RICE NESHAP

The RICE NESHAP ruling directly affects all existing stationary compression ignition (CI) and spark ignition (SI) engines and requires compliance by 2013.

As part of an effort to reduce engine emissions the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) adopted new national emission standards for hazardous air pollutants (NESHAP) in 2010. The new regulations apply to existing stationary compression ignition (CI) and spark ignition (SI) reciprocating internal combustion engines (RICE) excluding emergency use engines. Compliance to the new standards is required by 2013. The ruling is applicable to the following types of engine.

The final deadlines for full compliance are:
Compression Ignition (CI): May 3, 2013
Spark Ignition (SI): October 19, 2013
